About

Hello, I currently have over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, couples, adults, and families. I bring extensive experience in outpatient mental health therapy, and across all of my roles throughout my career, my primary focus has always been helping others. Lifting people up by helping them identify and build upon their own unique strengths is a critical component of my therapeutic work. Everyone needs additional help and support at different points throughout life’s journey. The therapeutic relationship is special, and, in this partnership, I will help support, empower, challenge, and guide individuals while developing positive strategies to navigate life’s challenges more effectively. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Towson University in 1998 and my master’s in social work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2003. I served Baltimore and the surrounding areas until my family relocated to Charlotte in the summer of 2015. Over the past 10 years, I have provided therapy services in Union County and supported the clinical growth of a private practice. I am now branching off to create my own platform to continue this important and impactful work. I specialize in the following areas: depression, anxiety, trauma and healing, grief and loss, ADHD, family conflicts, life transitions, sport performance stressors, recruitment stressors, and interpersonal relationships. My integrated, whole-person approach is rooted in client-centered care and incorporates evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, play therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I am passionate about building strong therapeutic alliances that foster insight, collaboration, empowerment, and meaningful personal growth aligned with each individual’s goals. In addition to my clinical work, I have been coaching in South Charlotte for the past nine years. I coach two sports that I played in high school and college, expanding access and opportunities for field hockey and lacrosse. I value the positive impact that sports and extracurricular activities has on individuals, including building character, confidence, self-esteem, social connection, and resilience—along with the physical and mental benefits of movement. I have firsthand experience with the college recruitment process and understand the additional stressors it can place on athletes and their families. Navigating athletic and academic choices adds layers of responsibility and pressure, and I have supported multiple perspectives through this process. My passion for the sports I played, the joy of helping athletes grow, and the power of teamwork all contributed to the creation of my practice name. If you’re curious about the connection behind Clear Counseling Services, I’d be happy to share more when we meet.
